  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Are some people more to blame for a crime then others and if so why? This is a question which many people wonder about today. I think the answer is yes. People who are brought up in a certain way are more likely to commit a certain crime than others. In he following I will consider why certain people are more to blame then others for the crimes that they commit.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Before looking at the issue of if some people are more to blame than others we must first look the reasons in which people may commit crimes and the type of crimes. There are a variety of reasons for a person to commit a crime including greed, to be famous, need for money, pure hate, and insanity. The crimes in which they commit range from murder, robberies, or rape.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  After looking at reasons why and the types of crimes it is now possible to look at the larger issue at hand. If a person is poor and they are performing a robbery to get some money to feed their baby should they be more to blame than someone who is rich but performing the same robbery because they are greedy. There is no right answer to this but I think that the person who is robbing the store to help his kid is less to blame. I say this because even though the person is poor it is not always his fault. He may not be able to get money for his baby but would still feels the need to provide for it. This is what forces him to rob the store. I feel people should look at him with a bit of compassion because the reason that he was committing the crime was not a selfish one but one that benefits others. On the other hand the rich guy who robbed the store cause he was greedy should be help more accountable for his crime. Since he is rich and did not need the money and onl y committed the crime because of his own selfishness he is more to blame.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  You might say why should the blame be divided differently between the two people if in fact they did commit the same crime. Now it is true that they are both supposed to be equal but are they really truly equal. How can we say that a poor person is equal to a rich one?

Being a student trainee is one of my good and memorable experiences in my college life. Everything was a â€Å"First time†. It’s my first time to submit a formal resume in a huge and known company which is Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI); To Undergo actual job interview with a real interviewee; Had job orientation, plant tour, borrowed uniforms from the company, issued temporary ID, etc. ; My first time to introduce myself to the whole department and group I’m assigned or endorse to.As a student trainee, we are schedule to report on HCPI from Mondays to Wednesday. I woke up five in the morning to prepare and come early for the shuttle service. I experience being left by the shuttle, riding a wrong one which led me to drop by at Star Mall Alabang instead of Balibago. It’s my first time to experience working 10 hours a day in 3 day a week. It’s my first time to use a machine where I should punch my Time Card (DTR). I experience answering phone call s, to use a new system that I’m not familiar with, to sort thick warranty papers, etc.I experience and learned to use each and every office tools that was needed in my tasks, though sometimes I failed to use it properly. In tough times, I experience tiredness, being sleepy in working hours and being hungry because I didn’t take my meal just to finish my work quickly. But all of these are worth it, because I received my Monthly Allowance which I gain working 10 hours a day in 3 days a week. At HCPI, They used to work hard for the sake of the company and its associates or employee. It is my first time to work in an actual workplace without any idea of my jobs flow.But my superior is there and guided me in some sort of task. There, I experience rush hour, do some task that was not under my fields. I experience to finish my task quickly because it’s time to go home. Sometimes, I experience the pressure of not having enough time to finish my work. I also experience t o go under time because of some problems or concerns at home and in school. But it’s my pleasure to receive several complements from my superior after finishing my task in the shortest possible time.Being a student trainee, I’ve been trained as an effective and sufficient person, I can adopt what I’ve learned from the company to be a good help for my future job and future works. I experience being guided, motivated, trained and taught by my superior and by the group that I’ve been endorse with and It doesn’t seems like I’m just a trainee, because they treated me like I’m one of them. I’ve never been criticize when it comes from my failed works, instead they motivated me more to improve my weakest ability and skills.They’ve been a thoughtful group mates/ bosses/ guardians/ friends for me. They always prepare something for me, gave me â€Å"pasalubong† whenever they left for OB and always treat me some snack. They n ever fail to inspire me and gave lots of advice when it comes to my study, my future job and future life. I know that all of these will end soon. All the things I already used to will soon going to be just a part of a good, memorable and wonderful experiences that I had in my college life. I spent 2 month as a trainee at HCPI.Then suddenly and finally my â€Å"Last day† came. It’s my last day to wake up five in the morning from Mondays to Wednesday, to ride a shuttle, to eat at the cafeteria, to work 10 hours a day in 3 days a week, to have my break at 10:00 am, 12:00 nn and 3:00 pm break . Last day to answer phone calls, to use the system I already used to. It’s my Last day to visit my locker and wear my complete uniform, my last day to punch my time card to the machine that at first I didn’t know the proper usage.My last day to be with all the people in the department I’m assigned to. It’s my last day as a student trainee and my last day o n HCPI. When it’s time to say goodbye to all the people I’m used to be with, to the company that accept me and trained me well. I celebrated my last day in HCPI with the group I’m endorsed with. I experience having my farewell message and say it out loud to the group I’m assigned to. At first, I probably say that OJT sounds boring and tiring and you don’t have any choice but to undergo with its process.But when you already get used to it you can realize the fulfillment of joy that you’ve felt after finishing all of these. All the sacrifices and time you spent are worth it. I’m thankful that once I’ve been a part of a great company and I’m proud to say that I’m my 200 hours (2 months) staying at HCPI as a STUDENT TRAINEE, I experience all the things that I’ve never expected to. I’ve even experience the things that never been to my mind. But all of these, even if it’s good or bad experiences wil l be a good help for me as a fresh graduate to find a great job as a well trained person.

The Annales was founded by two Strasburg professors, who taught history and it was through their connection that they were able to become a school of historical interpretation. Co-founders, Lucien Febvre and Marc Bloch developed a scholarly journal that incorporated their approach and was published in 1929. This groundbreaking article was titled â€Å"Annales d’Histoire Economique et social† which was subtle in its initial push for change in historical documentation. As they began this journey as the Annales, they opted for historians to examine the state of France as it is and then deduce history rather than judge the present based on the past. Although there works are one in the same, they had different approaches that worked well together. Bloch contributed an agrarian and comparative perspective, while Febvre’s contribution was geared more toward combining history and the social sciences. In the Annales School: An Intellectual History, Andre Burguiere states â€Å"the act of placing the present in perspective by setting it against what the past can teach us does not lead to skepticism but to a spirit of tolerance and responsibility. † This tells us that the Annales felt as though history should be judged not by the â€Å"great men† alone but by the masses. And the only way to get history outside of the proverbial box is to take into consideration the ideals of all men and evaluate them along with economic and material withholding of their country. In order to fully capture an unbiased survey of history Febvre and Bloch pushed for an intercontinental journal. This would allow them to expand their practices not only by incorporating other disciplines but also understanding these events from a broader perspective. Besides their interdisciplinary approach, they also wanted to transform history into a social science. For them, this would prove to be more practical and would be made up of checkable facts and resources. By turning history into a social science, collective beliefs and customs would be taken into consideration. With these approaches, Bloch and Febvre makes up the first generation of the Annales School of Historical Interpretation but their works are still being used, updated, and adapted in current historical interpretation. Marxist historiography takes a different approach to understanding history. Spawned from Marxism’s class scale, Marxist’s historical interpretation is limited, as it works backwards from the outcome to the event. However, this form of historical interpretation is recognized for its middle and lower class historical perspective. Karl Marx is well-known for his strong support for Communism. He professed that society goes through a cycle from anarchy to socialism, with capitalism and communism being on opposite ends of the spectrum. This approach led him to analyze and judge history on these characteristics. In Marxist historiography, every historical event was a result of the socioeconomic status in which the event took place. Marxist historians are sometime ashamed of the Marxist title that they have due to Marx’s position on what we call the free world. However, Marxist historians do not hang on every idea of Marxism. A Marxist historian analyzes history with the understanding that historical events are occurrences that are determined by the working class’ level of production and the type of government in place at the time of the occurrence. In Marxist historiography, historians pay close attention to historical materialism, class struggle, government, and production. These are the viewpoints that sum up this type of historical interpretation. The historiography of Marxism many times exclude political factors because it lacks the substantial and tangible evidence that other forms of historical interpretation embrace. Karl Marx both embraced and opposed the ideas of GWF Hegel, a German philosopher, who was well known for his conflict and contradictions theories. Yet, it was because of Hegel’s philosophy that Marxism thrives. Through Marxist historiography, historical events are at the mercy of a superstructure that has a predetermined path. The work of Karl Marx and the Annales are still in practice today. Both schools of historical interpretation emphasize the social and economic impact on society as being the source for historical events. They examine the framework of society and compare the circumstances of many events to verify their theories and downplay prior trust in political narratives. As Stuart Clark states, in The Annales School: Critical Assessments, â€Å"At the centre of these issues and at the point of convergence of the Annales school and Marxist history is the theme of power. He concluded that their two distinct methods explain the plight of human events without discussing power and because of this missing link, the two schools will have more differences than similarities. Power is a common idea of both schools, however, they do not point out this fact. As there studies show, shifts of power is the driving force behind all historical events. The foundations of the perspectives of these two schools are astonishingly similar, but their differences lie in the details of their work. The Annales eventually introduced their three tiered paradigm which was â€Å"structure at the base, conjecture in the center and the event at the top. This this was then divided again by geography, social, and the individual. †(Hunt ,1986) In their use of this paradigm, they set themselves apart from Marxism because they incorporated geography and the individual in their studies, which was unique. Taking into consideration , the individual gives a personal take on the superstructure because from this vantage point the big picture can not be seen. The Annales understood that the individual has personal motivations that are not apart of the collective opinion and that the structure affects each person differently. The evidence that the Annales consider when interpreting history is more detailed than the practices of Marxist historians. Marxist historians emphasize the super and sub-structures of society and remain focused on the outcome rather than the events. Marx stated in the Communist Manifesto that â€Å"the history of all past societies has been the history of all class struggles. † This sentence sums up the motivation behind Marxist historiography. Marx wanted inform the world that details did not matter as much as the inevitable social cycle. In The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte (1852), Marx states that history repeats itself, first as a tragedy and second, as a farce. † The Marxist historian upholds this statement to be a slogan for their studies. As they uncover new ideas regarding the â€Å"system†, they are able to interpret historical events from the outside in. Schools of historical interpretations have the duty of setting their methods apart from others and coming up with different ways to analyze history. Although each event has its facts, each school interpret the findings in interesting ways. The Annales began their journey trying to combat the Marxist historical methods and they prevailed in the way they were able to contribute to history what Marxist historiography could not cover. With each of their motivations deriving from the fallacies of political narratives, these schools have transformed historical documentation from a series of both unfortunate and fortunate events to a narrative of social and economic situations that inevitably force certain outcomes. The following are imaginary chapters in a 19th century book trying to educate striving women learn more about the steps to having the profession of a published writer. The chapters give insight to the few opportunities that were available in a time where there were certainly no creative writing or publishing classes.This Is Our EraChapter One: How to BeginLadies, I want to start off by saying you have come to the right place, if you want to be an author and well if you do not; then keep reading and you will soon want to. We are in an era of opportunity. There are controversies everywhere about us. Whether we should have the right to own property, have the right to vote, have custody of our children, and so much more we can fight for. Some may have lost hope or some of you do not know a way to express yourselves. Our opinions matter, it is our life. We are witnessing the upcoming of woman’s suffrage. We need to be a part of this movement, and the easiest way to do that is to write. Yes that is correct, we must write. We must demand a place alongside men and we must demand to be heard. Becoming professional writers enables us to put our opinions and trials out there so everyone can see.How exactly do you start writing? Well simple, look for a topic that interests you. I encourage you to start off with a simple topic, one such as the basic duties of a mother. Of course you would most likely start off by discussing chores a mother must fulfil and things a mother should teach to her children. This could qualify as a rough draft, not your best work. A rough draft will be similar to a sketch. You can write and feel free to make grammatical errors, things of that nature because it is not what you will be sending out. I repeat, NOT what you will be sending out. In your rough draft, your ideas could go anywhere. You can go off topic and you can express yourself without a care. After you feel like you have written enough to get you started on a real article, then you may begin. In order to begin, edit your rough writing. Take out what you believe readers would not want to hear and add things you believe a reader should hear. Look at the punctuation you have used and words you could replace. Also think about adding a title. To add a title, brainstorm. Think of everything you have written and try to summarize it all into one description. This one descriptive phrase could be a potential title. Make sure your writing is eligible and neat before you take it as a final draft. In order to captivate more readers try and add emotions, take Emily Bronte as an example (1). She is best known for her one novel wuthering heights, in which is usually described as very dark and filled with tons of emotions. The Novel is extremely popular for readers who like fantasy, horror, and melodrama. She wrote so bravely and unique that everyone was itching to read the novel. Work on being like her, add emotions and scenery. Be as descriptive as you can. Try to add things such as what being a mother means to you and what things you admire from your children, they are in fact your creations just like your writing. Be sincere, make the readers and the editor like you. Ladies, if we are all being honest, men don’t want to see us not following the roles we were given. Everyone believes that if we become writers, we lose our abilities to be mothers and to take care of a home (2). We must try and show the non-believers that we can be intelligent and be published and still know how to be a so-called â€Å"lady.† I for one am still a lady and I write an abundance every day of my life. Make them like your ideas, and your background. You cannot persuade a person who isn’t fond of you. Or maybe you can, but it would be much more difficult. So in this case, write to appeal. Now you have a decent concept of what good writing is. Look back and reread what you have wrote. Do you, yourself, think your work is good? Confidence is key when it comes to being a writer. Especially a woman writer. The next thing to do is summarize things that you think would be accepted socially and published into the magazines. Do not forget , we woman are not supposed to be so obvious with our opinions so in order to get them out you must hint at them but not entirely state them. If you would like to talk about the limited amount of schools available for us to gain more education, do it subtly. For example, tweak your view and make it seem like you are grateful for the universities we can attend and wish we would be gifted an abundance of schools to expand our knowledge to better teach our kids. This implies that you would like more higher education for woman, but you gave them a reason, they could agree to. Another topic you could write about is owning property, but again; use a more reserved strategy. You can write about how much you admire men and their ability to own land. You can somehow tie it up to yourself by writing about how much you admire and wish to be as successful and independent as them someday and somehow throw in a possibility of you owning land. This would make men readers happy you idolize their abilities, but would also make woman think about their restraints. It is all about how you use your words ladies.Once you have written a piece, you feel is good enough for submission to a magazine or even good enough to be turned into a book, you must know how to get it published. I would say look for the magazine company that gets the most recognition. You do not want to be published by a magazine no one reads. A popular magazine out now is The Godey’s Magazine. This magazine is always looking for new stories to feature and what is even better, there’s a female editor. Do not be fooled though, Sarah Josepha Hale is not one to favor woman trying to go against what society feels is our role. She is however, in favor of equal education between men and woman (3). She writes a lot about woman having more opportunities to gain more skills, but instead of wanting us to use our education to do more jobs and be more independent, she wants us to gain more knowledge to become better teachers. Like every man in our society, she isn’t in favor of the bigger picture for us but we can use her to get our opinions out easier. Aside from being an editor Hale, also writes stories that are all over The Godey’s magazine. She writes about simple topics such as health, beauty, and gardening with occasional topics of education.We can also use these topics as starting points. It is all about what we do with what we are given. Besides the Godey magazine, there are plenty of others that you can send your work to. There are magazines like The American Magazine, The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine, Casells Magazine and many more that accept women entries.(4)Francis Hodgson Burnett, started off by writing for American Magazine in order to support herself when her family went bankrupt. She is a great example. Although not many people agreed with her publishing and having kids, she did it anyway. Just like that, we must keep writing as well.Chapter Two: Things you must consider and things you must knowOnce you have chosen what magazine you would like to send your writing to its time to actually send it. But wait, make sure you have used black ink and white paper. Anything else would simply be absurd. Also, it would be best if along with your work you send something similar to what is called a cover letter. In this letter briefly state things you think they should know about you and why you write. The cover letter gives you chance to allure them and make them want to read your work to see what you are about. If they like everything about you and your work catches their attention then you are in! Congratulations my darling! Once you are in, however, there are things to expect. You WILL be looked at differently everywhere you go. Even family will look at you like you have broken some major law. You might think â€Å"no my family loves me and holds me dear to their hearts, you are wrong.† But no, love, I am right. You have done something most ladies would not have the courage to do. You did something you loved and made sure your voice was heard regardless of what people thought. But not everything is flowers and rainbows.The wrinkly, old ladies sitting at the park bench will gossip about your life and goals. The man at the grocery store will not blush while telling you how much your house hold items totaled up too and that woman that you called your closest friend, will probably ignore you. It is nothing new. People will feel like you are inferior to them and react the only way they know how, distance and separation. It is a horrible thing, really but you must now show them you are no different than you were yesterday. You can still do motherly things and you still love singing while cooking a meal. You are still a lady and do not let any foolish person tell you otherwise. Take an article in The Godey’s magazine for example, published not too long ago in 1863. It is called â€Å"A slight sketch of Miss Jumble’s career† by Hersly (5). The article is about a woman who has become a writer and is experiencing different treatment everywhere. She talks about how much her life had changed after becoming a literary star. She says that her husband would not have approached her if he had known that she was a woman writer in the first place because he would not have been able to approach her. But see, this is where that gets me. We do not need a man in our lives, it would be lovely to have a male companion but it is not a necessity. In a world where that is every women’s mission, we are smarter than that. Focus on ourselves first, men second. If a man won’t approach you in fear you’ll be too smart for him, then let it be and let a real man approach you. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Find an intelligent, brave man not one that can’t pick up his dignity to simply have a conversation with you. These are things we must aim to change. The mentality of people here is honestly so naive. She is telling her story to convince a young woman, who also wants to be a writer, why she should not lust after it. We must take into consideration everything she is saying but not so literal. Writing is great. There might be a few downfalls to being published but it is worth it the end.You have a chance to make yourself heard. Do not let the negativity bring you down. Miss jumbles was right about the drama that comes along with writing but she had her reason for writing, as do we. Aside from all of the bad things we have one major positive thing that comes with being a writer, the earnings! I must say, we do not get paid much, but we do get paid some and that is enough. You start off little by little until you are great and wealthy. I have a dream about going far in this world as woman, we all should dream big. It is what makes us human. It is what makes us equal.
